Partnerships for transformation in higher education are complex and innovative capacity-building initiatives that focus on the transfer of experience, competencies, and good practices among partner institutions. One of the essential components of these efforts is strengthening the technical base of the participating Central Asia higher education institutions.
To support this goal, the set of studies related laboratory equipment has been acquired for both participating Uzbekistan’s partner universities:
P2 Samarkand Agro-Innovations and Research University (SAMARU) has received a planetary mixer (kitchen machine), an electric convection oven with a one-tray proofer, an 18-tray single-door proofer, and a digital kitchen scale — all essential for modern bread and cereal technology training.
P3 Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies (AIAA) has been equipped with a freeze dryer, a 12-tray commercial dehydrator, and an assembled stainless steel pan trolley, supporting advanced learning and experimentation in fruit and vegetable processing.
The newly acquired equipment will significantly enhance the practical training capacity of the partner institutions, enabling students and academic staff to work with modern technologies and align study processes with the current needs of the food industry. All acquired equipment will be put in use during piloting of the Open University and new study modules.
